Time Takes Its Toll

I like collapsed and deteriorating buildings because they are examples of entropy: the dissipation of energy over time. I have been photographing examples of energy and entropy for some time. 
This barn has collapsed. Gravity and time have changed it.

Sun and salt water have bleached these walls, once freshly painted.

This apparatus once lifted ocean going ships out of the water for repair.
​It is no longer used, probably because San Francisco is no longer the port it once was.
