Joy Follows

​When you are tangling astronomy and
weaving astrological worlds, remember to remember
we did not arrive here on our own, look
around and lean toward the Light, let no one
keep you from traveling your path,
go where you go, let your feet move you forward, ‘cause
what else would or could, you are the ones knowing
your blessed ways, your ways of triumph, remember
 
Trails may be travails at times, may those be within your
inner reaches, still paths may be narrow, a stairway hidden or
a wide express--speedy and trafficked, none of us know
until we start stepping with our new boots, 
be sure and assured it will be varied, requiring some courage so
 
Carry your tarot cards, astrology charts and a journal to jot,
books of beloved poetry and important pens of choice, a camera and
if something doesn’t fit, bring a bell that brings you peace,
a passport for getting you out and in, well stamped from
journeys here and there and even from your withins and
 
Remember, none of us arrived here on our own, or alone
look up, down and at your sides, there
a networked ladder of support, power, and boldness surrounds you
yes, follow the Lights, they do not sleep and
joy will follow, keeping up while lighting the way
and do wear your boots of trust, as they will serve you
as you tangle, untangle and weave your way.

​Kathryn Miller works in poetry and visual arts. She was trained as a tapestry weaver and has been engaged in collage, iPad painting, along with the woven world. She often returns to her love of poetry. Kathryn is an avid explorer of words and images. Her home is New Mexico and has worked in the Bay Area for the past 18 years. Her PhD explored women’s narrative and what women do with their stories from their lives. Her poetry books include Tango Dancer and Triologue, which was written with two friends through email. Both were self-published. Her professional work has been as an executive coach with private and public organizations.
