Yes
by  Kathryn J. Miller

I say yes to the dream
I say yes, yes to life
I say yes, to love and those I hold dear
I say yes even when grief sits in and on my heart
Yes, that’s what I say when the Light calls and I
In my yesness do not sleep
I say yes, yes to everything even
to the sadness in a life in this world of grace and horrors,
I say yes to my tarot cards even when I pull
The Devil and know it is reminding me
See the humor and Light-ness in this life
Mine by design
Yes, yes, yes
I keep saying yes even as I say
Oy or even Oy squared or on lesser days
Oy cubed even though Oy
Is not my word of origins
I still say yes, because I know every bit of
This life of ups and downs and all arounds is a
Blessing sometimes dressed unattractively
Yes, I say yes to this life, this life
I hold with a tender heart
Yes to the Light that accompanies
Yes to this life and all that it holds
Like a monk with a begging bowl.
